Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I really was never a big eater, I just ate all the wrong things. I still suffer with that now. I did not realize how bad it was until I had my child and had to face the possibility of not being there to see him grow up. This scared me and I realized that I needed to do something or die...

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Not being able to participate in activities that other people did. Cant fit on roller coasters or run up stairs. I did not like not being able to just go shopping at any store and finding something to wear. I am still a work in progress but I still hate the term "full figured"...

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I enjoy going out and feeling "normal". I enjoy being able to run and ride a bike. I enjoy being able to keep up with my son and fit on a swing in the park.
