Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

i was so depressed and did not want to live. i would not let my husband touch my body. it was hell. i hated looking at my body. i was so happy to find dr. averbach me life was a mess i could not tie my shoes and i needed help with my socks too.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

i was so unhappy that my body was a no touch zone to my husband

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

sex,sex,sex any way yes and now i can tie my shoes i love being me

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

i found out from a doctor and my first words was when can i go met the doctor?

Describe your experience with getting insurance approval for surgery. What advice, if any, do you have for other people in this stage?

my doctors office took care of that and i was approved right away

What was your first visit with your surgeon like? How can people get the most out of this meeting?

when i got there the staff was so nice i was like family to them all. i had everything i needed that was told at the mettings

What made you finally decide to have the surgery?

i want to have great sex again and i wanted to tie my shoes

How did you decide which proceedure to have?

the doctor helped me decide

What fears did you have about having complications or even dying from from the surgery, and what would you tell other people having the same fears now?

dont worry god will be with you. i was fine because i trusted my surgeon

How did your family and friends react to your decision? Would you have communicated anything differently if you could now? How supportive were they after your surgery?

my family was all for it and no i would not change anything. i did everything i wanted to do

How did your employer/supervisor react to your decision? What did you tell him/her? How long were you out of work?

i am a house wife

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

my stay in the hosp. was great i was there two days. you really only need what you wear .

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

nothing was wrong. i was go to go.

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

i was ready the days i walk in dr. averbach office

Describe your first few weeks home from the hospital. What should people expect from this period?

i was so unhappy i could not have a burger. it was hard as hell no to eat wrong but i made it

How far did you travel to have your surgery? (If far, how did this affect your aftercare?)

it was ten min. from my house

Please describe in detail what things you could and couldn't eat in the weeks and months following surgery. What foods have been off limits? Please explain how your dietary tolerance changed week-by-week, and then month-by-month since surgery.

i could eat protein in any form eggs,mash potatoes.apple sauce cottege cheese.

What was your actvity level in the days and weeks after surgery?

i got so much energy right after i think it was because i was eating good food

What vitamins and/or dietary supplements have you taken since your surgery?

gnc vitamins are good

What side effects (nausea, vomiting, sleep disturbace, dumping, hair loss etc.) were worse for you? For how long after surgery did they persist? How did you cope with them?

i had no side effects at all

What was the worst part about the entire bariatric surgery process?

i had no worst parts i enjoy the new me

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

yes men give me the look now lol
