Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I have been heavy my whole life!! I was beside my self! Just miserable!! But now I'm better!! I have lost 104, but gained 10! But I feel so much better!I

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

I feel ill. I do not have a day with some kind of pain or misery. I feel so tired now. I feel like my chest in constricted and my legs swell. I feel older than I should.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I have had the surgery! It's all changed, now I feel vibrant!!

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

I felt that it was too drastic. I was intrigued and yet felt, it would make me look like a failure, too fat and lazy to loose the weight like a normal person.

Describe your experience with getting insurance approval for surgery. What advice, if any, do you have for other people in this stage?

I a have Kaiser, I think because my underlying problems, diabetes and hypertension, it makes it easier I'm still waiting for my approval, but so far the classes and the appointments have been encouragine
