Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I was 250 pounds and I was so not Healthy. I was sad all the time and I hated to look at myself in the mirror, or to go out to eat. I felt like everybody was looking at me and saying, she doesn't need anything to eat.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

I hated being FAT.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Exercise and Danceing. I like Walking, Water Aerobics, Dance Aerobics, and I just love Exercise in general.

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

The Internet and TV. I did a lot of Researching on the Internet about it.

Describe your experience with getting insurance approval for surgery. What advice, if any, do you have for other people in this stage?

It went very well. I was approved very quick.

What was your first visit with your surgeon like? How can people get the most out of this meeting?

I was very impressed with him. I asked a lot of questions, and I advice anyone to write down questions you have , when you think of them, or you will forget to aask them.

What made you finally decide to have the surgery?

When I was dignosed as being Type II Diabetes.

How did you decide which proceedure to have?

I did a lot of reasearching on Lap-Band, and I felt like it was for me.

What fears did you have about having complications or even dying from from the surgery, and what would you tell other people having the same fears now?

None

How did your family and friends react to your decision? Would you have communicated anything differently if you could now? How supportive were they after your surgery?

My Daughters was very glad. My Dad was not sold on it, but he didn't understand it either.

How did your employer/supervisor react to your decision? What did you tell him/her? How long were you out of work?

I am a Homemaker

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

I belond to The Southside Support Group In Atlanta. My Group Leader is so Awesome. She is so concerned abour her people. She's a Great and Sweet Person.

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

It is fading away. My Husband got me some Scar Away and it is so great.

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

I have not had any. I have lost 62 pounds in 4 months

Do you notice people treating you any differently now?

Some people I do. They are proud for me.
