Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I'M 45. BEEN FIGHT THIS FROM DAY 1 OF MY LIFE. I WIEHGTED 10.8 WHEN I WAS BORN. NEVER LOST MY BABY FAT. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE, I FEEL I HAVE A CHANGE TO LOSS WIEGHT AND KEEP IT OFF!!!!!!!!!

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

TAKING YOUR KIDS TO KINGS ISLAND AND BEING TO BIG TO RIDE THE RIDES WITH THEM.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

NA

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

SOMEONE I KNOW HAD IT SIX YRS. AGO. I WAS SCARED OF GIVING UP ALL MY BAD HABITS(FOOD)

Describe your experience with getting insurance approval for surgery. What advice, if any, do you have for other people in this stage?

NO PROBLEMS

What made you finally decide to have the surgery?

I WAS TIRED OF BEING OVER WIEGHT

How did you decide which proceedure to have?

DOC.

What fears did you have about having complications or even dying from from the surgery, and what would you tell other people having the same fears now?

I PUT MY LIFE IN GODS HAND. I HAD NO FEARS!!

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

MY STAY WAS GOOD, I WAS THERE FOR TO TODAYS. SUPPORT GROUP.

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

NA

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

I PRAYED ALOT. MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS WERE THERE FOR ME DOING IT ALL.

Describe your first few weeks home from the hospital. What should people expect from this period?

SO FAR SO GOOD. EVERY MEAL I EAT SOMETHING DIFFERENT. NOT TO GET BORED WITH MY NEW CHANGES.

How far did you travel to have your surgery? (If far, how did this affect your aftercare?)

NOT FAR

Please describe in detail what things you could and couldn't eat in the weeks and months following surgery. What foods have been off limits? Please explain how your dietary tolerance changed week-by-week, and then month-by-month since surgery.

I TRY HARD NOT TO THINK OF ALL THE FOODS I CANT EAT. I STILL COOK DAILY FOR MY FAMILY, I EAT WHAT I CAN, THEY EAT WHAT THEY EAT. I DONT ALLOW LEFT OVERS NOW.

What vitamins and/or dietary supplements have you taken since your surgery?

What side effects (nausea, vomiting, sleep disturbace, dumping, hair loss etc.) were worse for you? For how long after surgery did they persist? How did you cope with them?

NO PROBLEMS

What was the worst part about the entire bariatric surgery process?

MY LEFT SIDE HURTS ALOT
