Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I just felt like giving up, very embarrased at times.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Not being able to enjoy life. I miss going to the amusement parks, and not being able to fit really hurts.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

cross my legs and being able to fit in small places.

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

A friend of mines told me about it.

Describe your experience with getting insurance approval for surgery. What advice, if any, do you have for other people in this stage?

OMG i could'nt believe it.I thank god everyday.

What was your first visit with your surgeon like? How can people get the most out of this meeting?

IT WENT VERY WELL DR YANCEY EXPLAINED EVERYTHING VERY WELL.

What made you finally decide to have the surgery?

Myself, Basically i have two beautiful children that i want to enjoy life with, and a gorgeous husband as well.

How did you decide which proceedure to have?

My doctor, Dr.Yancey

What fears did you have about having complications or even dying from from the surgery, and what would you tell other people having the same fears now?

I put all my trust in god, because i knew he was gonna bring me out.

How did your family and friends react to your decision? Would you have communicated anything differently if you could now? How supportive were they after your surgery?

My husband was very supportive, I love him so much for being a true and sincere husband.

How did your employer/supervisor react to your decision? What did you tell him/her? How long were you out of work?

Well my boss said Sharon you are not that big, I guess not to her she weighs only 110 pounds. But I told her I was doing it for health reason, I was out of work for only 2 weeks.

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

It was just awesome my husband was by my side the entire time. I was in the hospital for 3 days. Supoort is the most important thing and have faith in god knowing everything is gonna be alright.

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

None a little vomiting, nothing i couldnt handle.

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

I feel like weight was finally gonna be over for me and to enjoy life just being healthy.

Describe your first few weeks home from the hospital. What should people expect from this period?

It was ok, i slept sooooooooooo much, my family was sooooo supportive.

How far did you travel to have your surgery? (If far, how did this affect your aftercare?)

I was about an hour and thirty minutes away.

What was your actvity level in the days and weeks after surgery?

very slow...................

What vitamins and/or dietary supplements have you taken since your surgery?

I take vitamins b12 and iron every single day............

What side effects (nausea, vomiting, sleep disturbace, dumping, hair loss etc.) were worse for you? For how long after surgery did they persist? How did you cope with them?

Alittle nausea nothing i couldnt handle ........

What was the worst part about the entire bariatric surgery process?

MY eating habits changed.

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

MY family and my lord and savior jesus christ............

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

I love it and i thank god for it everyday.

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

Yes that reallly freaks me out i just ask the scale to move forward not backwards.

Do you notice people treating you any differently now?

Yes but i say to my self DONT HATE...............
