Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I felt like there is no way to win the losing battle for losing the unwanted weight. I tried conventional weight loss ways but it always fired back on me. It does not help having metabolism that is near non-existence.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Cannot state one thing. There's the size, aches & pains, tiredness, so on...

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

From my primary physician. At 1st was hesitant & scared due to having to under the knife.

What was your first visit with your surgeon like? How can people get the most out of this meeting?

It was both educational & easy to go through. the surgeon makes you feel like your the only person in the world that matters most to them.

What made you finally decide to have the surgery?

This is my tool to help me lose the unwanted weight, & get my health better & finally have a life again. And to boot, wear clothing that don't look like gotten from a tent store & can afford normal sizes!

How did you decide which proceedure to have?

Asked the surgeon whats best for my case.

What fears did you have about having complications or even dying from from the surgery, and what would you tell other people having the same fears now?

Have had none after I learned from those who had it done. nothing but positive answers. Not one regretted having it done.

How did your family and friends react to your decision? Would you have communicated anything differently if you could now? How supportive were they after your surgery?

My family & friends are 100% supportive & are there for me every step of the way.

How did your employer/supervisor react to your decision? What did you tell him/her? How long were you out of work?
