Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I battled being heavy for far to long, trying to hide in pictures and being to tired to go play with kids!!1

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Fearing my kids were embarrised of me and not being able to keep up with them!

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Haven't found out yet!

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

Siminar...I was ready!

Describe your experience with getting insurance approval for surgery. What advice, if any, do you have for other people in this stage?

Was fine! follow all the rules and jump through all of the hoops! It will all work out!

What was your first visit with your surgeon like? How can people get the most out of this meeting?

It was Great, he is Great! Ask lots and lots of questions!

What made you finally decide to have the surgery?

My kids!!!!!!

How did you decide which proceedure to have?

The siminar!

What fears did you have about having complications or even dying from from the surgery, and what would you tell other people having the same fears now?

I was ready, I believe that God has everyone's time appointed. And i would only have died if it was my time. I prayed about it and felt in my heart it was the right thing to do, however i did also pray for the surgions hands as well...haha

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

It was fine, overnight...got out at 2pm the following day!

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

A small one, blood drained over to my left side, causeing ALOT of pain. Don't roll over on your left side after surgery!

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

I felt kinda bad...achy...my back hurt pretty bad! But all in all...it was worth it!

Describe your first few weeks home from the hospital. What should people expect from this period?

I was sore, but day by day got much better!

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

I have 6 small scars! Nuthin major!

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.
