How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

Well my aunt new some people that had the surgery and also reading about it cause she knew I could not live like that.

What was your first visit with your surgeon like? How can people get the most out of this meeting?

Well everyone has a different situation on there hands. My feelings about meeting the surgeon was ok, it is one of the steps you have to go through.

What made you finally decide to have the surgery?

I found out if I do not have surgery I would die.

What fears did you have about having complications or even dying from from the surgery, and what would you tell other people having the same fears now?

I was very frightened to have it but I did not let it stop me to have it.

How did your family and friends react to your decision? Would you have communicated anything differently if you could now? How supportive were they after your surgery?

My family and my future husband have been very supportive in this and they have been very happy cause I am looking good and feeling good. They are jellious

How did your employer/supervisor react to your decision? What did you tell him/her? How long were you out of work?

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

It was very painful but the help of doctors and nurses was great. I was i the hospital for 4 days. It was the longest days that I have ever had.

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

No not really

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

I was anxious, excited happy and also emotional at times.

Describe your first few weeks home from the hospital. What should people expect from this period?

Some pain, maybe a little hunger but ok I guess

How far did you travel to have your surgery? (If far, how did this affect your aftercare?)

Not at all basically I am very close to my surgeon and the hospital

Basically everything I have eaten in the past I will never touch again..

What was your actvity level in the days and weeks after surgery?

It has been great I feel like the engerizer battery bunny

What vitamins and/or dietary supplements have you taken since your surgery?

What side effects (nausea, vomiting, sleep disturbace, dumping, hair loss etc.) were worse for you? For how long after surgery did they persist? How did you cope with them?

I vommited a couple of times. Cant sleep at night my body does not want to sleep.

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

Yes it is very ugly

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

In so many words I have a life and I am not going to die
