Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

It was hard not being able to fit certain clothes ,running without becoming to winded just down right depressing

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

people saying you can control your weight when they really dont know

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

NOT SNORING AS I WAS TOLD

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

A couple of my friends had the surgery and my nurse at my PCP

Describe your experience with getting insurance approval for surgery. What advice, if any, do you have for other people in this stage?

it wasnt that bad at all Ruth and April at Dr.Lord office are great

What was your first visit with your surgeon like? How can people get the most out of this meeting?

He is so awesome , he has a nice plesaant personality he make you feel real comfortable and confident

What made you finally decide to have the surgery?

The dieting just wasnt working

How did you decide which proceedure to have?

My insurance only cover the bypass which is ok for me

What fears did you have about having complications or even dying from from the surgery, and what would you tell other people having the same fears now?

I must admit I am nervous I have faith and trust in the Lord

How did your family and friends react to your decision? Would you have communicated anything differently if you could now? How supportive were they after your surgery?

the peolple that I have told are supportive. its alot of people I havent told yet they will just see after the fact

How did your employer/supervisor react to your decision? What did you tell him/her? How long were you out of work?

I'm taking off work 3 weeks I only have to take off 2 I'm taking 3 just in case. they were ok as long as I put my time in advance and I had time to cover it which I do

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

I STAYED FOR 3 DAYS AND IT WAS A WONDERFUL STAY THE STAF OF THE BARIATRIC UNIT ARE WONDERFUL CARING PEOPLE THEY TREAT YOU WITH SUCH CARE ALOT OF THE NURSES UP THER HAS HAD THE SURGERY SO THAY CAN SYMPATHSIZE WITH YOU AND WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO I GURANTEE ANYBODY THAT HAS THE SURGERY THEY WILL LOVE EVRYBODY LUCRETIA,PAULA,SUZIE ,SABRINA ,DESIREE,THERESA AND ANYONE I HAVE FORGOT I LOVE YOU GUYS ALL THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING MY STAY ENJOYABLE AND MEMORABLE

NO

How far did you travel to have your surgery? (If far, how did this affect your aftercare?)

NOT FAR RIGHT DOWN THE STREET. I LIVE ON SAME STREET AS HOSPITAL

What was your actvity level in the days and weeks after surgery?

SO FAR SO GOOD ONLY BEEN A WEEK AND 2 DAYS

What vitamins and/or dietary supplements have you taken since your surgery?

wILL START TAKING MY VITAMINS ON 4/28 AFTER i SEE dR LORD FOR POST OP APPT ON 4/27

What was the worst part about the entire bariatric surgery process?

THE GAS PAINS

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

MY MOM WAS REAL SUPPORTIVE SHE TOOK OFF A WEEK TO HELP ME WITH KIDS OTHER THAN THAT DONT REALLY HAVE ANY I CALL DR.LORD OFFICE IF I HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

NOT BAD AT ALL HAS HEALED FAIRLY NICE EVEN WHER JP DRAIN IT DIDNT LEAK AFTER BEING REMOVED CLOSED RIGHT UP ONE INCISIONS GETS IRRITATED IF MY CLOTHES RUB UP AGAINST IT OTHER THAN THAT IT GREAT

Do you notice people treating you any differently now?

NOT REALLY TO SOON TO TELL. I REALLY DIDNT TELL MANY PEOPLE I WAS HAVING SURGERY ONLY REAL CLOSE FRIENDS
