Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Diet Journal Valita Larson My struggle with my weight began when I was a teenager, like most people I guess. 1. My first diet was Cottage Cheese and Prune Juice, 3 times a day, needless to say from reading what I ate, you know what happened, I have tried to lose weight so many times, I cant count them, I have put them in the order from when I can remember below. 1. Cottage Cheese/Prune Juice 2. Slender Center. 3. Diet Center. 4.Womens World of Fitness. 5. Body Kurves. 6. Xenical. I have tried and tried to lose weight so many times I need this surgery very badly, I try to stick to the diets I am put on, but I have very low will power, I fix my husband and my daughters meals and try to stick to my diet, but they arent on diets so they eat whatever they want, and they do it in front of me, they dont do it for meanness, I know that, but, I could really use something rapid and powerful to get me started. I know I can keep the weight off if I can get a big helping start, this surgery would help me to do that, I know that this surgery is risky, but I have tried everything and every kind of diet possible. I am getting very nervous, about this surgery, I got a booklet in the mail and it talks about all the risks that may come along with the surgery, I want to lose weight so badly and Im not even sure if the insurance is completely approved, I am afraid I will get my hopes up and then I wont be able to get the surgery. I dont have the will power to do this by myself and my family is no help at all, its like they dont want to hear about it, I even told my husband that I would be in the Intensive Care Unit and he doesnt say much, I have to be up at the hospital all by myself all the way up in Madison and I want someone to care about what is going to happen to me. It just doesnt seem like anybody cares, maybe its because I have been on so many diets and exercise programs, My consultation appointment is on the 24th of January.I just know its going to be snowing like crazy the day I go for my first appointment, I am going to make it to that appointment come rain, snow, or whatever.
