Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I HAVE TRYED SO MANY DIETS AND LOSTED AND GAINED SO I FAUGHT SO MUCH WITH THIS PROBLEM I AM SO TIRED OF FIGHTING SO THIS SURGERY IS GOING TO SAVE ME.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

THE LOOKS AND THE PEOPLE TALKING BEHIND MY BACK SO NOW I WILL GIVE THEM SOME THING TO TALK ABOUT.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

CONTROLING MY INTAKE OF FOOD

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

MY AUNT SHIRLEY HAD IT DONE AND I SAW WHAT HER LIFE DID AND I KNOW IT WILL ADD TO MINE TOO.

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

I HAD A WONDER STAY IN THE HOSPITAL. I WAS THERE FOR 3 DAYS AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO BRING IS SOMEONE TO HELP YOU AND THEN LIP BLAM AND A TOOTH BRUSH.

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

NO I AM DOING GREAT AND I WOULD DO IT AGAIN IN A HEART BEAT

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

FOR THE FIRST COUPLE OF DAYS THE GAS IS THE WORST AND THEN THE SORENESS SETS IN. JUST WALK WALK WALK.

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

I HAVE A WONDER GROUPS IN MY HOME TOWN AND THEY ARE VERY HELPFULL

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

I HAD MINE OPEN AND MY SCAR IS THREE INCHES LONG AND I EXPECTED A LONG SCAR.

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

Do you notice people treating you any differently now?

YES WHEN THEY EAT AROUND ME THE HIDE AND I TELL THEM NOT TO TIP TOE AROUND ME.
