Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

i think about being over weight each and everyday of my adult life no matter how much i hate it i havent been able to change it

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

people looking at me like im a differant person since im over weight not being able to fit at a table in a resterant on airplane or a rollercoaster people just seem to thing if your overweight you not a human any more

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

walk in public and have my head up high feeling so good about myself i can fit in a booth at a reastant

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

about a year ago and didnt think it was for me til now i know its what i need to do to change

What was your first visit with your surgeon like? How can people get the most out of this meeting?

it was great was with him for about 2 hrs he took his time with me and answered ever question i could through out to him in my appenion he is the greatest doctor ive ever been too

What made you finally decide to have the surgery?

i figured this was going to be my one and only chance to chage my life for the better so i better do it while i could still

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

the hospital stay was great very large rooms, very large this hospital has 2 rooms just for this reason big over stuffed chair with big ottom thats where my husband slept the nurses were wonderful very up to date

How far did you travel to have your surgery? (If far, how did this affect your aftercare?)

about 3 1/2 hrs away so not to bad

What vitamins and/or dietary supplements have you taken since your surgery?

i take 3 chewable multi vit from wal-mart called one sourse there good one iron aday plus one vit c actigal 2 times aday because i still have my gallbladder have to take these for 6 months 2 choc calcuim chews really really good

What side effects (nausea, vomiting, sleep disturbace, dumping, hair loss etc.) were worse for you? For how long after surgery did they persist? How did you cope with them?

i just started losing my hair about 2 months ago and im only 3 month post off not good my hair is already thin thats a big down fall im so afraid im going to go bald

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

i go to a support group every other monday they are great

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

i have 7 small scares some worse than others i have so many because i had a feeding tube and 2 drain tubes

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

i had my first 4 wweeks after and keep having them alot im at 3 month and have been on one for 2 weeks now
