Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I was Depressed, Refused to be active in my childrens lives missed everything they did reason being I know people are cruel and I did not want them embarrassed of me.... I settled for everything because I did not think I could do better

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

People making comments, I had a lady in the store come get cookies (which were for my kids) out of my shopping cart and she siad "This is the reason you are the way you are" I left crying and was humiliated

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Walking, breathing fresh air, being a mom spending time with my daughters seeing how proud they are of me now my grandchildren I have 3 its the lil things in life people take for granted til its taken away from you Ya never realized how important it is!

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

about three years ago I heard a lady on tv talk about the different surgeries...at the time it was not widely known like it is now so I got on the internet and found obesityhelp.com and studied it for over a year before finally deciding it was for me

I had a terrific stay in the hospital, I was there 3 days, The Nurses were amazing they encouraged me to get up and walk they were the best said I was an "A+" Patient! I took Toothbrush, Pads (which I needed after surgery) chapstick, wetwipes, wood spoon, Robe and slippers

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

No I had none what so ever God has plans for me *s*
