Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

The ups and downs of depression and anxiety are impossible to describe. So was the unhappiness and lack of self-esteem.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Not being able to fit in many seats, therefore missing a lot of places to go to visit. Being tired all the time, now I have more energy than I know what to do with.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

It's been the best thing I could have done. I am 7 months out and feel like a whole new person. I love walking daily, with or without trekking poles. My son is soon getting married and I will proudly walk him down the aisle and give him to his chosen one. Being able to buy clothes anywhere is a bonus!
