Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I have faught with eating and my weight since i was about 6 or 7 . i have never felt full in my mind , my tummy was about to bust but my head couldn't understand .

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

the way i felt , and the looks i got

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

buying clothes and seeing new pics of my self comparsion to fat me

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

family doc. i loved dr blaney . he truly cares about his patients

Describe your experience with getting insurance approval for surgery. What advice, if any, do you have for other people in this stage?

my insurance company was a pain in my ass

What was your first visit with your surgeon like? How can people get the most out of this meeting?

do your homework about the procedures and have questions ready and written down

What made you finally decide to have the surgery?

i was over it !!!! sick of the pain of being super obese

How did you decide which proceedure to have?

talked with my doc

What fears did you have about having complications or even dying from from the surgery, and what would you tell other people having the same fears now?

i was scared of dying i had a 4 mth old baby when i had the surgery done so i had a lot of added stresses

How did your family and friends react to your decision? Would you have communicated anything differently if you could now? How supportive were they after your surgery?

i didn't tell anyone except close close family people don't understand unless they have lived it so there opions didn't matter i only told postive people

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

4 night , pillows and pj pants

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

no

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

great i ws excited for my new life to start

Describe your first few weeks home from the hospital. What should people expect from this period?

alot of learning my new tiny tummy , testing the limit and what works for me

How far did you travel to have your surgery? (If far, how did this affect your aftercare?)

Please describe in detail what things you could and couldn't eat in the weeks and months following surgery. What foods have been off limits? Please explain how your dietary tolerance changed week-by-week, and then month-by-month since surgery.

i have had dumping with my proceder which is odd . its good for me because i was a sweet junkie preop

What was your actvity level in the days and weeks after surgery?

normal after leaving hosptial

What vitamins and/or dietary supplements have you taken since your surgery?

multi- vitamin daily

What side effects (nausea, vomiting, sleep disturbace, dumping, hair loss etc.) were worse for you? For how long after surgery did they persist? How did you cope with them?

nausea, and vomiting when i made poor choices , hair loss was controlled with diet

What was the worst part about the entire bariatric surgery process?

its more than eating you still have to deal with the real demons . which wouldn't happen without the surgery

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

i have 5 little scar and one 1" 1/2 scar . i don't care

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

plateau will piss you off very upsetting very normal but still suck
