Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I am an emotional eater. and prior to surgery had been real emotional. So I was out of control

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Everything, feeling self conscious, embarrassed and disgusted.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

LIFE

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

I thought it was an idea, so I researched it and a bariatric Surgeon

Describe your experience with getting insurance approval for surgery. What advice, if any, do you have for other people in this stage?

My insurance approved me the 1st time

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

My hospital stay was great. I was there for 3 nights. the most important things to bring- a brush, robe and slippers

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

None

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

Initially alot of pain, had an incisional infection, alot of gas, but by the 2nd month, I adjusted

Describe your first few weeks home from the hospital. What should people expect from this period?

the first 2 weeks expect to not feel so well, I went back to work the 3rd week

How far did you travel to have your surgery? (If far, how did this affect your aftercare?)

30 minutes

Please describe in detail what things you could and couldn't eat in the weeks and months following surgery. What foods have been off limits? Please explain how your dietary tolerance changed week-by-week, and then month-by-month since surgery.

chicken, stea still can't initally salad, now i can Still wont touch rice, pasta Bread, only if its very toasted Sugar, no. i dump

What was your actvity level in the days and weeks after surgery?

After 6 weeks, I became very active.

What vitamins and/or dietary supplements have you taken since your surgery?

B12, calcium, multi-vitamin

What side effects (nausea, vomiting, sleep disturbace, dumping, hair loss etc.) were worse for you? For how long after surgery did they persist? How did you cope with them?

Vomitting still get nausea, still have hair loss.

What was the worst part about the entire bariatric surgery process?

getting to the point in life that I needed it I have no regrets

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

none

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

I had it done laproscoptically

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

there have been many

Do you notice people treating you any differently now?

yes and I really pisses me off I am still the same person
