Be sure to look up surgeons that you are considering here. Medical Licensure is controlled at the state level. Every state has some office where the public can get the licensure status of any physician in the state.

State Boards of Licensure have considerable public information about doctors, including, in most cases, an address, school and year of graduation, year State license issued, whether there are any disciplinary charges pending or any completed disciplinary actions against the licensee, including any malpractice judgements or felony criminal actions that have been reported to the Board, and other information.
