Last week I had to spend overnight in my local hospital to undergo tests because I have continued to have shortness of breath, fatigue, and generally feeling not well. After scans of my lungs, x-rays, ABG's at rest and exercise, plus other uncomfortable procedures, it was decided my asthma was out of control. This was due to not having been put on adequate doses of my regular meds after surgery. Irritation of my lungs due to the long surgery. My family doctor had previously put me on a Medrol dose pack for a week. I had felt better, but still could not walk about in my home without nearly fainting from lack of air. Now I am on a two week course of a heavy dose of cortisone. I must say after just a few days, I feel so much better. My weight loss is at a plateau of 279, but I have edema from the cortisone. I expect after I finish the course of therapy on April 6 that I will start loosing again. I am just glad that I can breath again, that I have no blood clots, and I am feeling better each day.
will update in a week.
