Laura, I was glad to read that there is someone out there with just about the same situation as I am in. I had open VBG on 3/17/00. I have lost give or take a pound 52 pounds. You are doing great. I am feeling so much better. I am not doing as much exercise as I need to but am working on it. I too agree that surgery was the best decision I made. How are your eating habits. I tend to eat at least a little something every 3 to 3 1/2 hours to keep satisfied. I am still happy with my weight loss but want to make sure that I keep every thing in check because my husband and I are ready to try for our second child. I finally feel confident enough in carrying pregnancy to term. At over 300lbs I would not have considered another pregnancy. My energy levels gets better and better. I try to maintain a good daily intake of protein becaue I am losing hair. I have read that this helps. Any ideas. Have not had really any other side effects. Still have to be careful what I eat and very aware of how much I eat. But I am finally getting used to this new way of life and I love it. Just wanted to congratulate you on your loss and offer some support to you from someone who is in your same situation. Be glad to share email with you about your progress. Thanks, Lisa Saxon [email protected] I read negative comments about VBG but I can tell you that a friend of mine had Bypass about 2 months ago and he has had nothing but vomiting any time he tries to eat solids. Glad I chose VBG.
