Do not stand at my grave and weep, "I am not there, I do not sleep." I am thousand winds that blow; "I am the diamond glints on the snow, "I am the sunlight on ripened grains; "I am the gentle autumn's rain. "When you awake in the morning's hush, "I am the swift uplifting rush "Of the quiet birds in circled flight. "I am the soft star that shines at night." Do not stand at my grave and cry. "I am not there; I did not die AuthorUnknown-kristi

Dear friends and family of Jeanie George. I just wanted to take a moment to remember Jeanie on her surgery day. May God hold her in the palm of his hands until you meet again.

Kathy (. 24 years, 5 months ago

Jeanie was a very bright light for many of us who knew her personally. She was a member of the OSSG_CenTex group through e-groups.com. I recommend that you go visit her website when you can and read her story. She was very young and in extremely bad health. She had been told that she would die within 5 years unless she lost a very large amount of weight....she was also confined to a wheelchair. Dr. Selinkoff, who was her surgeon (and a very very good one) knew that she was extremely high risk and discussed this with her and her mother. Jeanie knew this and she knew what the outcome might be but she felt that this was her only chance at having a real life and wanted to have the surgery more than anything. One of Jeanie's problems were blood clots...she had just had one removed from each leg in February (just months before her surgery). Jeanie was no where near the typical surgery patient and Dr. Selinkoff and the staff worked very hard to save her. She would not want anyone to be scared of going ahead with their surgery but she would encourage them to do their research and know that it is major surgery and there are things that can happen. Please visit her website and get to know how courageous this wonderful young woman was.
