Dear Linda, I am in Garfield too, & I was surprised to see someone else here from my town! My surgery is scheduled for May 24th, and I'm currently waiting for my insurance approval! I'm SOOO Nervous! Hope you are well! I see you are induring the pureed diet well. Good For you! I tried it for a few days as per my nutritionists suggestion, and had no problem. It was the liquid diet that was more of a struggle to try and maintain. I hear that the liquid will be easier post op though since you don't feel like eating. I hope so! Either way it helps I suppose, to know you won't be on liquids forever! Keep in touch! I'd Love to hear how you are progressing! Maybe we could even meet someday? Well good luck, and keep up the great work! :) Yvonne

Well, I'm 6 days post-op and it hasn't been too bad although My sleeping isn't all that great. I've been sleeping in my son's bed because its more comfortable. I've been tolerating the purreed real well and find when your home you can make things taste a whole lot better. Pain is still there of course especially when I lie down and try to get up. Don't sleep through the nite either, but I guess it will get better. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers and I'll keep sending updates. By for now! Linda B.

Hi Linda, I'd say don't be nervous but, heck, I was nervous! Of course it was all for nothing (except I burned a few extra calories) because my surgery went just fine. In fact, the week before surgery was harder than the week after. I'd say I had more soreness than pain; all completely manageable. Keep it positive. That includes having only positive people around you. The negative ones will just test your nerves. Don't forget to post your experiences to surgery pages when you feel better. I hope all your health and weight-loss dreams come true,

I have some Zen Wisdom for you - Nothing exists but momentarily...One thing flows into another...observe things as they are, let everything go as it goes. This is to put everything under control in its widest sense. May God keep you close to his side as you travel your new journey. You will experience ups and downs. Just remember that we, your AMOS family, will always be here for you. We will offer support and encouragement. You will find this to be the best thing you could ever have done for yourself as well as your family. I know that I did. Keep us posted when you reach the "other" side. I pray for a speedy and easy recovery for you. Good luck and God Bless!!! RNY 10/31/03 down 78 pounds!!!!
