ObesityHelp.com Photo FAQ

  1. What is a URL? A URL is a web site address. For example, the URL for this website is http://www.obesityhelp.com/. For your photo to be seen on the web, it has to be uploaded to a web site somewhere. If it is saved on your computer, either on your hard drive or a removable media device (such as a floppy disc, cd, or DVD) it will not be viewable to the public, only to you. No one else will be able to have access to the picture. If you don't have your own web site, send the picture on to us and we can set it up on ObesityHelp and link from there. Email us for instructions.
  2. I know I have my picture linked correctly, but why isn't it showing up? Servers who offer free web sites, such as Geocities, Yahoo!, Angelfire, Xoom, etc. are now blocking pictures from being viewed off of their sites. We are working on making it possible for you to link your picture from our site, but that's still in the thought process and might not happen for quite awhile as we make sure we have something which will work for all of us. For now, you can send the photos to us and we can take care of it for now, until you can do it yourself on our site.
  3. How do I email my photo to you? You can click here to start your email, or if that doesn't work, you can manually open your email program and address the email to [email protected]. Each email program has a different way of attaching a file. In your program, look for Attach(ment) or the Paper Clip icon. Click on that, then locate the file on your hard drive. Click on the photo file, then OK. We only accept jpg, gif or png formats. They can be zipped or unzipped. In your email, make sure to include your name and/or email address as it appears on your Profile and your member ID (located under your name in your profile) so we know who you are.

For AOL users, you need to send the picture as an attachment. If you use the AOL copy and paste feature, your photo will not reach us. In your email, make sure to include your name and/or email address as it appears on your Profile and your member ID (located under your name in your profile) so we know who you are.
  4. How do I link my own picture? If you have your own website you can link directly to your photo. Make sure to link to the photo itself, not the website or the page it is on. Correct example: http://www.yourwebsite.com/myphoto.jpg. Incorrect: http://www.yourwebsite.com or http://www.yourwebsite.com/somepage.html.
  5. Whom do I contact to scan my picture? Please email us and someone will contact you to make arrangements. In your email, make sure to include your name, member ID (located under your name in your profile), and email address as it appears on your Profile so we know who you are.
  6. Whom do I contact for help? If you need any assistance, email us and explain that you want help with your photo.
