Getting Authorization - Surgery date scheduled

Congratulations!

You're likely to want to announce your date to others on this site. Your enthusiasm is an important part of our community of members having insurance difficulties. Be careful, however, to be sensitive to the predicament of such people.

This is a good opportunity for you to look ahead to the next section, “New Post Op,” to see what challenges you may be in for.

Also, you might consider preparing for the worst and making a living will.

At this point you may become anxious and have second thoughts at the last minute. If so, don't worry — that's perfectly normal. You've already done your research carefully so just hunker down and expect the inevitable emotional roller-coaster in the weeks and days leading up to your surgery.

Helping your peers
While you wait for your date, you may wish to be an angel for one of your peers to follow them through the process. At this stage, you've covered a lot of ground already and are an excelent resource of information for site members just starting out. Make contact with anyone asking questions that you're now experienced enough to answer.
