It seems that ever since my surgery which was the VBG, not at every meal, but there are times when I'll be eating and my nose will start to run. Also, if I don't chew well or take small enough bites and I wind up having to bring it back up as soon as I bend over my nose will start to run. Has that ever happened to any one else?    — Donna C. This is a condition called gustatory rhinitis. My husband gets it when he is full. I've tried to research it, but what I've read says there isn't a particular cause or reason.

I have the same problem with a runny nose. No matter what kind of allergy medicine I take my nose will not stop. Try this experiment, eat raw fruit in the morning then raw vegtables in the evening. If that does not work, see an allergist.

Allot of people with VBG have this happen. I don't know why but it always happens after overeating. Also, you might want to join the VBG support group on-line. It is very informative.
