Question:
Need to know of a creme or lotion that helps reduce appearance of stretch marks.
I have a lot of stretch marks mostly old ones. They are on my stomach, arms, and back of legs in knee cap area. But I don't know really what to use to help fade them some. Or is there a makeup that maybe some of you use that helps hide them? I read somewhere that you can get them covered with permanent makeup. Has anyone heard of this or know of someone having it done? Anyone help or tips would be appreciated greatly. I have always been imbarrased of my stretch marks. — Snowflake_Princess (posted on May 14, 2003)

Ahhh...the age old question! You know, I'll be curious to see if anyone
has found any 'miracle' cure, but as far as I know, there isn't one. You
would think that if there were something that REALLY worked to remove, or
even cover, stretch marks the world would have one more millionaire, and
millions of women who wouldn't be able to keep their mouths shut about it.

I am not sure if it works but I have heard it advertised. Mederma. I
haven't tried it but I thought maybe after I have surgery I would.

Walgreens has a generic version of the Mederma. I just bought some for my
scar. Not sure if it works yet, but it does make the incisional area feel
better.

HI, WHEN I HAD MY CHILDREN I HAD STRETCH MARKS TOO OF COURSE, AND WHAT
WORKED BEST FOR ME IS USING VIAMIN E OIL AND NOW I DO NOT HAVE ANY MORE
STRETCH MARKS. THEY ALSO WORK GREAT FOR SCARS. YOU CAN BUY IT AT WALMART OR
ANY DRUG STORE IN YOUR AREA. JUST MAKE SURE THAT IS THE OIL KIND THAT SEEMS
TO WORK THE BEST AND RUB ALITTLE BIT ON AT A TIME 2-3 TIMES PER DAY. HOPE
THIS INFO HELPS. GOOD LUCK!

cocoa butter with vitamin e in it works very well. I have used it twice a
day on my scar/marks and it has faded them out alot.
Vitamin E oil works great too even for healing. Ethier one you can get at
Walgreens.

I was going to suggest Mederma as well, as some previous posters did. I
used it for a couple months on my open scar and could tell a little bit of
a difference, but theni t got infected from other reasons, so it kind of
erased all that. But I'm going to try again. I haven't used it on stretch
marks, but its supposed to work for it as well. It is expensive though, but
they do have a money-back guarantee, so that is a help! Are you post-op? I
found that my once bright red, huge stretch marks are now smaller (probably
b/c my body is...) and white now. SO they do look better, but nothing can
take them away completely unfortunately! Goodluck :-)

I sow this ad a while back and tried it. It works great...
Could It Be Magic? That roller-skating accident in second grade. Your
battle with chicken pox. Your parents' divorce. Don't you have enough
scars? Unfortunately, life doesn't give a damn. No matter how gingerly you
step, you fall again. No matter how thick-skinned, something pierces you.
The best you can hope for? Eliminating the evidence. Egyptian Magic, a
healing balm used by everyone from recovering surgery patients to pop divas
(Madonna won't leave home without it), is one of those hokey miracle cures
that actually works. Just how hokey, you ask? Well, check out the Website,
where CEO Lord-Pharaoh ImHotep-AmonRa proclaims, "There is a dream out
there with your name on it ... Divine law peace unto you." We don't
know about that, but his earthlier claim -- that the product cures all
sorts of skin ailments -- certainly seems true. Applied regularly, it
promotes healing and prevents scarring (of the physical variety only,
alas). Though, according to Lord-Pharaoh ImHotep-AmonRa, "It is
possible to win success in any avenue of life's activities without wronging
a single human soul." So perhaps there's hope for those other scars,
too.
