Question:
This is to the members who have had a panni removal. I had my surgery
8 days ago. I am so swollen I look like a pregnant woman. How long does it take for the swelling to go down? Also is there anything you can put on the incision to promote healing? I have been using neosporin. Also my belly button is draining any suggestions on that. I still have 2 drains. — susan V. (posted on February 22, 2002)

I had abdmonoplasty on Feb 1, and I am still swollen. I had heard that it
can take up to 3 months to go away. This surgery seems to be harder than
the open RNY I had. Maybe because of the weight loss, and then this on top
of that. Just kicked my booty. I am getting around ok but, I still have
hard days. I had my drain removed only after 4 or 5 days. I haven't had
any problems with healing, which is good. The swelling is not as bad, but
I can feel it is still there. I am looking forward to the full results.
Good luck to you. I had 6 lbs of skin removed and then also around 6 lbs
of fat. I went in at 165 and am now at 155. I am 5'10".
