Has anyone self-paid for WLS in Central Ohio?

I'm looking for a doctor will accept selfpay in central Ohio.Do you know what the cost would be & can you make payments.Have insurance but does not cover.    — Terri H. (posted on February 16, 2002)

I DID PAY FOR MINE MYSELF SELF PAY BUT A FRIEND I KNOW GOES TO A DOCTOR IN SPRINGFIELD AREA THAT SELF PAYS SHE SAID IT WAS 12,000 DOOLARS

I am self-pay in Columbus. I went through the OSU Comprehensive Weight Management Program. The hospital was $10,000 up front, and about $7,000 afterward to cover the rest of the 2-1/2 days. The surgeon was Bradley Needleman. Dr. Needleman asked for 1/2 of his $4200 fee up front and then pay out the remaining 1/2. Anesthesia was extra. I believe that the hospital will negotiate a lower fee if you can prove you need it, but I think you have to have tax documentation to back up your claim. If you need further info, email me. Margie B

i will be self pay in ohio and dr spier in springfield is doing the surgery his fee is 3100$ and the hospital fee is 10000$ if you pay upfront.
