Question:
Do I have a hernia???
I have noticed that, if I'm laying on my back and I flex my stomach muscles, a big bulge comes up ... about the size of a cantaloupe. It doesn't hurt or anything; it's just weird. I feel like I'm pregnant or something. I asked my internist about it, and he said it's probably just some scar tissue or something and that, in his opinion, it wasn't a hernia ... but I thought I'd check with this support group to see if any of you have had a similar experience. Terissa,
Yes, you have a hernia. I'm preop & hoping to have mine repaired along
with WLS. Anyway, hernia's do not get better on their own. You must see
your doctor, someone other than this internist. I forgot to look if you're
postop, if you are then get with your surgeon.

If you are post op, this may just be your lucky day . My surgeon told me
that all insurance companies cover a tummy tuck done at the same time as a
hernia repair. Make sure you check into it. And no matter what we may say
here as support, (despite the fact that most of the time you will get the
accurate abswer here) if you ever have a medical question you should ALWAYS
get a professional medical answer. Safety first!

I have also been told... herria may be fixed at the same time as tummy
tuck.... Most want to wait till they have lost most of their weight before
repair... But check with your doctor... he/she knows best....
