Question:
If I self pay for my surgery, and then I have complications afterwards....

Its up to your insurance plan. I know mine wont and it clearly states it doesn't cover complications arrising from obesity surgeries. Be careful.

It depends on your insurance company. I was a self-pay and I got my insurance company to agree to pay for any complications should they arise after the surgery. In their eyes the surgery itself was not covered because to them it was "cosmetic" but any complications would be life threatening and that would be different. Check with your insurance company.
