I drink a tea called Smooth Move and it works wonders! I bought it at the grocery store. The brand name is Traditional Medicienals (sp). You might be able to find it at GNC or a health food store. It is safe and gental and tasts wonderful.

I am 2 1/2 years post op and still have constipation problems. What works well for me is generic Senokot (over the counter). You can get it at any drug store. It is a fairly small tablet that is a nature veg laxative. It doesn't cause me any discomfort, just keeps me regular. I take 1 or 2 at bedtime every night. [email protected]. E-mail anytime. Sincerely, Cheryl

I am ovre two years post-op and I have problems with constipation. I each a package of metamucil bars in the morning. I then follow up about a half hour with water. If you take fiber and do not drink enough water the fiber can act as a stool hardner and cause a blockage instead of helping things move along like you want. So I'll tell you, as if you haven't read it enough, make sure you drink that water.

LAP RNY 8-28-02. I have had this problem from day 1. I have found that 2 stool softeners at night and adding 1 tbl. Benifiber any drink in the morning keeps me on a daily routine. That is the only thing that I have found to be consistant. Yes, salads and popcorn work but I needed something to live by. check out the library on this site. It is great! -108 lbs.

I was around 6 weeks when I started incorporating one serving of veggies a day into my diet...a salad, some brussel sprouts - steamed to very soft...or I might have popcorn (or as another said sugar-free chocolate). I love variety and didn't want another pill or liquid I HAD to take everyday.

I have found that if I add 1 Tbp. Benifiber to a protien drink or cream of wheat in the morning it keeps me regular. This has been the only think that works for me.
