Question:
I have had WLS in the 70's and it reversed in 1980. Do you think I can qualify?

Well, only a sugeon and your insurance company can give you the final
answer. However, it seems to me that something you did more than 20 years
ago can't really be compared to what they can offer you today. I know
there are some insurance plans that have fine print about previous WLS
surgeries. I say go for it, and let us know how it goes. Good Luck.

I know people who have had as many as 7 of these surgeries. If you find a
surgeon who has been around awhile who has actually performed many of the
older surgeries, they might be willing to do you where a new one might not.
Don't take one "no" for an answer, but persue onward.

Hi Cassy, I also have BCBS PPO and my contract states that WLS is covered
provided the Covered Plan Participant has not previously undergone the same
or similar procedure in their lifetime. You will have to check your
contract because that exclusion may be absent. I wish you all the best.
