My total for hospital, surgeon, anesthesia, pre-and post-ops, and misc.,
was about $15,000. I have heard it run up to $30,000 at BTC however. And
surprise: $101,000 for a gal who had her surgery using the DaVinci
apparatus (I'm not sure how that works).

Hosital in N.J.

I will be a self-pay if my ins. doesn't come through. Dr. Fallang is doing
my surgery in Middletown, Ohio. The total fee quoted is $16,500.00. This
includes all the pre-op testing. The group consult is free.

My LAP RNY was $18,640.00 self pay done in GA by one of the best LAP RNY
Surgeons in the country(I wonder if some of the higher quotes are higher
because of insurance paying)I didn't have to pay that much to get the
best.....SHOP, SHOP, SHOP...

I was a patient at OHSU in Oregon. My surgeon was Dr. McConnell. I had an
Open RNY, was in intensive care for 1 day, and on the regular ward for 3
more days. I had an epidural for post-op pain management. No other
complications or problems. My total bills were just over 26 thousand
dollars. I wrote off everything on my taxes, after taking out the 7% of my
annual income.

My total estimate is $17,000. I'm from Houston area and using Dr. Spivek.
I understand it may be more if there are complications. I'm having the
surgery in a few weeks. My consultation is today. Since I do not have to
wait for insurance approval, I will have the surgery as soon as pre-op
testing is completed. (My estimate includes pre-op testing.)
