Question:
I am 5 days post op and i feel like i have gas all the time bubbling gurgling

i cannot eat or drink anything without pain. Feels like Gas and bubbling and gurgling...is this normal will it go away anytime soon?    — Deborah H. (posted on March 7, 2001)

Deb, It will go away soon. I think mine lasted about 5 to 7 days after surgery. It was very anoying!! It was the worst when I laid down!! I am 4 weeks out and getting a little stronger every day! Good Luck. Hugs Jann

Gas can also be a result of the anesthesia.Walk around to help "break it up" so to speak. It will go away within a few weeks.

I didnt have the pain from the gas problem until one week post op, especially when i would drink cool liquids. Now at three weeks post op the pain has gone away. I still feel gas pushing through sometimes but no pain as long as i sip. It will go away.
