Question:
Someone posted something about self-help books by Geneen Roth.

They did not give the titles though and when I checked at Barnes & Noble's website, there were a ton of books by this author. Has anyone read any of her books? I have heard her named mentioned quite often in conjunction with breaking your food addiction and I know that if I'm going to be successful with this surgery, I will definitely have to get over my food addiction. Any help is greatly appreciated! — Terry M. (posted on August 25, 2000)

Try these: When You Eat at the Refrigerator, Pull Up a Chair : 50 Ways to Feel Thin, Gorgeous, and Happy (When You Feel Anything But), Breaking Free from Compulsive Eating or Why Weight? : A Guide to Ending Compulsive Eating All by Geneen Roth.

Another title is feeding the hungry heart. I just finished listening to one of her audio-tapes and it was fantastic!!!

Geneen Roth's books are excellent when dealing with issues related to emotional hunger. I would start with FEEDING THE HUNGRY HEART.

I have one of her books, it is called "When Food is Love." It is excellent, so true to life. It made me cry. I highly recommend this particular book.

I know this post is very old, but I'd just like to add, the one thing I got out of her books was you always want what you can't have. So, if you tell yourself you can't have something, you'll want it more than ever. If you always have a mindset that you CAN have it, chances are it won't be as important to you.
