I checked with my surgeon and with my cousins both in northern IL but both
said it would be difficult to find a surgeon to care of you after its done
by someone else let alone in another country. Perhaps since your PCP is
wonderful you could ask your surgeon for all the different types of follow
up bloodwork to be checked and have your PCP draw every three months. Also
your PCP could give you your B12 about every 4-6 weeks. Try to get
detailed diet starting when you leave the hospital, when & how to
increase food amounts and what NOT to eat. Also do tons to looking in the
library to give you more info on aftercare. Also ask surgeon what vitamins
that are needed, calcium (citrate only), multi-vitamin, iron, etc. Sorry I
couldn't help find you a surgeon to follow up, but perhaps you and your PCP
can learn from the web and asking other people. Also very important get a
copy of EVERYTHING (O.R. report, etc)they did during your surgery in case
you need emergency care at local hospital this may help the new doctor
taking care of you.
