Question:
Ladies, just in case you haven't noticed, after we had WLS for
morbid obesity, we've lost a considerable amount of muscle and breast tissue in our breasts. Are you or have you had breast enhancement, augmentation with implants along with a breast lift or will the "portable implants" (from Frederick's of Hollywood) or would a Wonderbra or surgical intervention suffice for you? I'm still trying to make up my mind. I bought some from a place called Silkies Boutique. They didn't come in my 'color', didn't really have to as long as they serve the purpose. Plenty of questions today, huh? Thanks for responding! Proximal LAP RNY 9/3/02 5'2" 265/138/115-126, down 127 lbs, and would be happier if certain other body parts went along with my total body. Do I need a "starter bra" even? Hadiyah McCutcheon, a.k.a.~~~ — yourdivaness (posted on January 12, 2004)

I have lost a lot of breast tissue. I actually have indentions in some
places, the only thing left is empty skin. I wouldn't consider augmentation
at my age, 55, but I have found a wonderful bra from Victoria Secrets. It
has a very natural feeling padding. I think it might be gel, and it comes
in several colors. I call it my $36 boob job.

Although I still wear a 38D, I need it simply to stuff my empty breasts
into. Mine have definitely deflated. I would consider a breast lift, but
not implants at this point. I have heard that it can sometimes be
difficult to get accurate mammograms w/ implants. Since I have had a cyst
removed already, I hesitate to do it. If I had one opportunity for
plastic/reconstructive surgery, I'd have an abdominopplasty. The belly
flesh bothers me far more than the deflated breasts.

i don't think you can loose breast tissue or muscle, but i think you can
loose the fat in your breast and that muscles there can shrink. if you get
in your protien and workout i don't see how you can loose muscle. my breast
at normal weight were about a 32-b(before breastfeeding)....haha not too
big and at my top weight i wore a 48-c. i hope with workout that i can keep
a nice shape. i have been wearing a sports bra 24 hours a day since i
became post-op to keep from getting stretch marks from fast weightloss. i
have lost 70 pounds and so far so good. i guess that is the one thing that
is good about having small breasts. i do however love the new victoria's
secert very sexy collection demi push-up bra.

Believe it or not, I'm post op from a breast reduction/lift.
There wasn't much to reduce, but skin. In fact, most insurances require at
least 500 grams be removed from each breast to be covered but they OK'd
mine, because of the severe rashes I was having.
Picture this! I was a 44DDD day of surgery 2/11/03 (Lap RNY) and 10 months
later I was a 38D, but after a 108 pound loss there wasn't much fat content
left. They headed way south! Regardless of weight/fat or whatever they
still caused tension in my shoulders/neck. I had surgery on 11/17/03 and
may I add.....I LOVE IT! He thought there was enough to leave me a 36C, so
that's what I'm wearing now. Of course, it's just under 8 weeks from
surgery, but what a difference? It will take 6 months at least before the
final shape takes place, but they sure look awesome now. My PS is the best!
You would have had to see what I had then and now...He moved the nipple 7-8
inches higher (FNG) You can't hardly see a scar. He was amazed at my
healing, although he puts all his patients on high protein/64 ozs water
daily. Go Figure! Same routine I've been on for 10 months. I also got
plenty rest with 6 weeks no exercise. I have followed all instructions for
both Lap RNY/Breast Reduction and have healed quicker.
2 major surgeries w/o pain/complications. With 111 pound loss at 11 months
and now the girls riding high/perky....Am I lucky or what? Yes...I am! I'm
also very Thankful.
Now, I'm addicted to buying bras. lol Never thought I'd enjoy that in a
million years. I guess because I hated buying those shoulder boulder bras
I've worn. Not to mention the cost! I can buy 2 for what 1 of the old ones
cost. lol
Good Luck.........

So Sorry...I forgot to add I only had 150 grams removed from each
breast....I mentioned insurance required 500 from each. Also, it is breast
tissue....That's what I was told.
Why in the world would anyone want big breast..Been there done that...they
don't stay that way as you age unless, you have implants or lifts or a damn
good bra! lol Give me IBT's (itty bitty ~^*() anyday.....

I will be looking into the possibility of having breast implants due to the
fact that now they look like deflated balloons. Now that would not matter
so much to me if I were not trying to begin dating. I am just now starting
to live again since my husband passed away 2 years ago. I am very self
conscious about the way I look as a woman. I just think that I would feel
better about myself if I had it done. Janice

After losing all of my weight, I had a TT (Well a Panniculectomy) and a
breast augmentation. I love it. My problem is that I have developed
Capsular Contracture twice on my right breast. So now I have to have a
third surgery on that breast to fix it. But I would do it again and again,
if I needed to. I also had a lift done. I went from a 36A to a 36C.

I just bought the gel bras from Victoria's secret and it looks like I had a
boob job for real. I think they are called "sexy" and they are 38
bucks a piece but boy are they worth it.

Even when I was MO, I still wished I could get a "boob" job to
even them out. The right one is visibly smaller. Now that I've lost
weight (70+ lbs), it is even more noticeable, and they are totally saggy.
I don't like them at all anymore, even though I'm very happy with the
weight loss. So I'm saving money for this in the future. I will probably
try to work with a doc who will work with insurance, but I have my doubts
it will be covered. Hubby doesn't want me to undergo any more surgery, but
I really think it's something I'm going to want to do. I liked the tips
about the portable implants - I may try those in the meantime.

Its a totally personal decision whether to get reduced/augmented/lifted or
to just live with it. I went from a 44D to a 36C, which would be nice if
the girls looked forward and not down south, so I would like a lift. While
bras do the trick, it would be nice to be able to wear a nice summer dress
with spaghetti straps or a one piece bathing suit or a cocktail dress with
cleavage..so, perhaps I will self-pay and get it done. My problem is I
made the mistake of watching some plastics (TT and lift) on the discovery
channel and now I cannot get those awful pictures out of my mind, so lets
just say, the decision has been put off for a while...

I keep going back and forth on whether or not to have my former breasts
augmented. the are pitiful npw. My husband will only say do what makes me
feel good, that he has no opinion. He doesn't want to commit to nything
that might be held againt him LOL/ he did say he didn't think i should go
for the "pamela anderson " look

I am going to a plastic surgery consult next week. I wear a size 34B or C.
But it is just stuffing the skin into the cup. A sexy bra is fine but
when the bra comes off...what a letdown, really! I hope I dont need
implants but what really happens in an "uplift"? Do they
actually remove skin or just "tack in up"? I hope I don't need
implants but I don't want to be smaller than a B. I will know more after
the consult.

I've just noticed that I'm now a size 34B (without padding) and my breasts
are sagging and drooping. Anyone else? I'm still contemplating whether I
want to go through with breast augmentation/enhancement/lift and TT with
lower body lift and/or thigh lift. I've got hanging skin and
"drooping" all over EVEN with exercize.

I was relatively flat-chested even when I was pre-op, so I suppose my chest
would look better if I had implants done. However, I don't want to deal
with the potential problems of implants. I would be worried about implants
making it harder to get an accurate mammogram. So, all I really want is to
get a tummy tuck. I can accept the boob sag and batwings since they're not
extremely noticeable when I'm dressed.
