Question:
Post Ops: Any suggestions on how I should eat now?
My weight loss has slowed considerally, despite the fact that because of the recent diagnosis of metastatic liver cancer, I lost 18 pounds in about 3-4 days...No, I'm not sad and all is not lost! I posted on the Message Board for some feedback, and didn't get much. Should I continue the best I can to try and maximize or extend my weight loss? I know that I should continue to eat SMART and healthy, but I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has some ideas. I'm feeling VERY WELL these days and, welcome positive thoughts and suggestions, but please, no "flamers"...As always, I love you all. Thanks! I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis, Hadiyah, and I wish you good luck
in your cancer battle. As far as weight loss goes, I would say it depends
on whatever treatments you expect to undergo regarding the cancer.
Obviously, that takes precedence, and it's conceiveable some of the
treatment(s) are known to increase or decrease weight. With mine (thyroid
cancer w/mets), I was extremely determined not to gain weight when they
told I might do so from the treatments, and so I didn't, but I still ate
healthy (if very conservatively during those times). I'd run this one by
your docs. {{{Good luck}}} to you!

Hadiyah~I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It's great that you're
maintianing a positive outlook; I truly believe that's a huge part of the
battle. I have to agree with Suzy C that your best answer to your
questions about trying to continue to lose weight or not are best answered
by your medical team, including the oncologist and your WL surgeon. They
will know which strategy is likely to be most helpful in your recovery.
It's great that you're feeling good--that will help in your fight. My best
wishes to you as you go through this.

taking for your liver. Continue to do go and to feel good. hang in there

I have followed your journey and am saddened by this recent
detour~~continue to eat healthy - not for the WLS but because a healty
strong body is better able to fight the cancer-
Good Luck and God Bless
