If you are already approved then just call other surgeons in your area.
They will usually fit you in faster if you already have insurance
approval.
Good Luck

Hi, I'm from Canada where you are waiting atleast a year for your first
consult....my advice is to research and research....make sure you have
enough info on your present doctor or research a new one....get the success
rates and failure/complication rates for them...this is the rest of your
life your looking at don't rush into things. I finally have my consult next
week after waiting a year and I think I know so much I could actually
preform the surgery (haha) thats how well informed I am....I also have 2
more years to wait for surgery so consider yourself lucky!!!

Keep reading! I have been on this site for almost a year and I'm still
learning things. I am only 2 weeks post op and this site is full of
information. You can research all the stages so you know what to expect.
You can make lists of things to take to the hospital, things you will need
when you get home, types of protien and meal plans. You can get recipies
for protien shakes and high protien meals. You can start trying the shakes
to find something you can stand to drink for a while. Look up some of the
problems people are having so when you have them you will understand why. I
think the better informed you are pre-op the better you will do. : )

I joined a local support group. And went on a 6 month doctor supervised
diet just in case my insurance company changed its policy, I ended up not
needing it but the 43 lbs I lost was wonderful going into surgery! Do
whatever you think you might need.
