Question:
Post Ops: At what weight do you *dream* you will be someday?
How long do you think it will take and what are your plans once you have reached your *dream weight*? I guess by now, you can tell what my *dream* weight is: I'm 5'2" and started out at 265# (before my surgical consultation) and I dream of weighing approximately 115lbs. This, to me, is the weight I was most comfortable with~~during my real "youth".I was modeling then...I think at that size, I'll feel comfortable sporting a purple leather pant suit with purple leather boots to match, a gold hip chain around my little "teenie weenie waist", go to the beauty shop and get my hair curled big time, body massage, pedicure. I'll be all that!!! LAP RNY 9/3/02 265/158/115-126, Always, Hadiyah — yourdivaness (posted on June 10, 2003)

Hi, Hadiyah--great question! Let's see, I would be content to be below
200#. I would be REALLY content to be 180#. I would be thrilled,
ecstatic, beside myself to be at my personal all-time low of 165. 165,
165, 165--that's the big kahuna to me; the place where I'm most comfy and I
look great! (Funny--when I DID weigh 165, I thought I was soooo fat.) My
deep personal wish...but I'm not bankin' on it....it to be below 150. To
slide that big 50# weight to "100" on the big doctor's scale and
to slide the little weight up to "49"......oh, sweet
Jesus......dare to dream.....4.5 months post-op, -71 lbs (325/254/165)

The charts say my ideal weight is 126, but at 54 yrs old I think I would
look like a hag at that. Too much excess skin and my face would look gaunt.
My personal goal is 165 because that is the lowest I can remember being in
the last 20 years. Anything less than that is just a bonus. I am currently
177 at 5'2". I was 272 when I had WLS on 10/22/02.I had to lose 10%
for surgery so I actually started at 299, that was July 2002.

I'd really like to be 118 (strange number but that's the one stuck in my
head). I'm 5'2.5". I started at 282 and am 135ish. I'm almost 2 yrs
post and my window has slammed shut. I have decided to dedicate myself to
diet/exercise so hopefully at some point in the NEXT two years I'll get
there. I've been approved for a panni, so maybe that will get rid of
another 5-6 lbs...Best wishes to all! -Kim open RNY 7/17/01

My personal goal has always been 140-150, but I would be happy at 170-180.
I figure I can get another 10-20 lbs. off with plastics. To be honest, if
I never lose another lb., I am so thankful for what this surgery has done
for me and I would do it again in a heartbeat. My start weight was 348.5
and I am now 218, 8 months post-op. I am off ALL meds and feel better than
I've felt in years!!!!

I ould love to get to 143.5 that would be half of my beginning weight. I
am 5'7 and would be happy in the 150's. I will not settle for less no
matter how long it takes to get there.

My dream weight would be 160, I'm 5'10 so I figure by then I'll be a large
size 10. I'm about 15 pounds away from that, and it seems to be the hardest
15 pounds I'll ever have to deal with, seems I keep loosing and gaining
back 5 pounds.... Awe man when I reach goal, I want a Tummy Tuck, and a
belly peirce...... that's be my little way of rewarding myself truly... for
all the hard work.

I am a little over eight weeks psot op and have lost 101 pounds. I started
at 523 My dream weight is to get down to 215. Unfortunately my bone
structure accordin to my MD is three times the size of a normal human man
so he said that may not happen for a while.

I would love to get down to 112. I am only 4'11" tall. I dont know if
I can get down that low. I would be happy with 120.

Since I started out at 441lbs anything under 200lbs sounds good to me. I
never thought I would get this far (220lbs on the scale today). I would
ultimately like to be around 180lbs at 5'6. That may sound like alot to
some but at 48 yrs old I don't think I would ever get down to what the
charts say I should be (142lbs). I haven't been in the hundreds since grade
school. Take Care, Toni OPEN RNY 01/10/02 441/220/1??

I started out at 282 and I truly want to be "half the person I used to
be", so my goal weight is 141. At 5'3", I thik that is pretty
good. I'm 9 months post op and down to 145 (only 4 lbs to go)!!!!! I
think I will probably get a little lower than that, but I will be bouncing
off the walls at 141!!!!!! Anything else is just "icing on the
cake" so to speak.

All I have EVER wanted my whole life was to not be considered fat - so it
doesn't matter what the number is!

My 'dream' was to be 150lbs so I could honestly say I lost half of me. I
started at 300lbs. I'm now at 160lbs after my PS and I DON'T want to be
150lbs now. I'd look sickly. I'm in size 8's and some 6's (I'm 5'6"
medium frame) and I remember thinking that I'd be thrilled with a 12! Never
would've thought I'd get to an 8! Don't go by the numbers. Go by how you
look and feel.

My dream goal weight, which happens to be the goal weight of my surgeon, is
170 lbs. I am 5'5, I never wanted to be super thin, but still have meat on
my bones, I think that is attactive to men these days. I am 9.5 months
post op and down 162 lbs. Starting weight of 382 and currently 220. 50
more lbs to go!

My "dream" weight is 180 (I'm six feet tall), however I think I'd
be quite happy at 220...oh heck I'm quite happy at 260 lol...but 220 would
be ever so comfy :>)

That is a really good question! I really don't have a specific number on
the scale that I am looking for. I want to be able to look in the mirror
like the size of the person looking back....I want to be able to ride in an
airplane and not get marks on my hips...I have really never been small (I
was 200 lbs in 8th grade) so right now my goal is to be healthier and look
better....

my dream weight is 140, however with my bone structure and height (i'm
5'4", and very big boned) i don't think i would look good lower than
160. my surgon's (and my) goal weight is 170. I'm 7 weeks out and down 35
lbs last weigh in. not a bad start....
