The Dr.will ask you some questions about you and your immediate family-
drinking, smoking, sucicial tendancies, he basically is trying to figure
out if you are mentally stable to withstand this type of surg and if you
are doing it for the right reasons, and a 500 questionaire, wasnt bad at
all.

Hey Pamela,
I think that each psychological evaluation is different. I can only tell
you about mine. My psychologist asked me several questions about my past
dieting experiences. Then he asked me to tell him EVERYTHING involved with
the surgery. Basically so he knows that I know exactly what I am getting
myself into. Make sure you have every bit of knowledge about the procedure
itself. That is pretty much it. I thought it was quite easy and he sent in
his "ok". I have heard of other people having to take quizzes. I
didn't have to do that. Anyway hope this helps. Good luck. Jaime

Pamela,
I looked at the psychological evaluation like a job interview, I dressed up
to impress, put on my best suit, put on my best face, Worked myself up,
preped myself, "You can do it" adittude and went with it.
Overall it lasted for about 30 minutes, as she asked questions regarding my
life, my husband, my family ties, how I felt surgery would change me, what
I was expecting "The outcome" was I aware of how my post-op life
would be like, I gave her simple answers and didn't touch to hard on any
touchy subjects,... I brought out and shared the best of what I have out of
life,... Took all the energy away from the bad things and turned the
engery towards to the good, it made a world of difference. I tell you the
attitude of thinking it's like going in for a job interview really works.
Put your best foot forward. Smile and you'll have no problems

I'VE HEARD A LOT OF PEOPLE SAY THEY HAD TO DO A 500 QUESTION DEAL BUT MINE
WAS JUST AN HOUR OF CONVERSATION. SHE WANTED TO KNOW HOW MUCH I KNEW ABOUT
THE WLS & IF I REALLY UNDERSTOOD IS WAS A TOOL & NOT A MAGIC WAND.
WANTED TO MAKE SURE I KNEW ABOUT THE FOOD RESTRICTIONS & POSSIBLE
COMPLICATIONS. AS LONG AS YOUR IN TOUCH WITH REALITY & NOT DELUDING
YOURSELF YOU SHOULD BE FINE.
