Christine- I have surgery with Dr. Greenbaum in about a month- it took me a
long time because I had to schedule all of my pre-op consultations around
my college schedule (I could only have them on Fridays), but I saw one
person at a group meeting that only took about 6 weeks from the first
consultation to her surgery date. (They won't schedule your surgery date
until you have done all the preliminary consultations, this way, the people
who are really serious about persuing it will, and those who are iffy about
it won't clog up dates only to decide otherwise later.) I don't know much
about Dr. wasser, but I would say DEFINITELY visit the group meetings in
the back of the hospital cafeteria. They are really helpful; Dr. G is
there at every meeting and you'll get to meet lots of people who have
already had the surgery with him and Dr. W. Plus, you can get all your
paperwork there and the sheet of Drs you can visit to get the journey
started. Also, you can visit his patient forum at
http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/mdcomments.php?N=k92 to get lots
of opinions. Good luck to you!!
