Question:
Has anyone used an abd. binder for their hernia?
I am about 5 months post-op Open RNY and also have an incisional hernia that is quite large. My doctor does not want to do anything about it until I have lost all my weight. I have only lost 60 # so far and have about 90 more to go. So I am sure this is going to be awhile before I can have this fixed. I was wondering if anyone uses a binder and if so what kind are you wearing? I have been looking for something because by the end of the day I am having quite a bit of abd. pain - I think it is due to the pulling on the stomach muscles. I thought maybe with a binder it would help support the hernia. Has anyone else had pain due to a hernia ? What about with or without a binder ? I appreciate any help on this matter. Kelly, I had a small incisional hernia and was having pain with it,
especially when I sat down for a while and towards the end of the day. My
doctor had me wearing the binder that I had when I first had my WLS. You
can get these binders at Marena group (they have an internet site). To be
honest it didn't help much and I went about five or six months with the
pain until I had it repaired along with a tummy tuck. Good luck to you.
