Question:
Does anyone know anyone the DS did NOT work for?

Hello, I'm 4 months out and have not lost a thing in over a month and a half. Started at 267 now 222. 45 pounds lost in the first 2.5 months but nothing since. Is this the best I can expect? I've tried just about everything to get my weightloss going again but nothing seems to work. My common channel is 75cm. If I knew I would have only lost 45 pounds with the DS I wouldn't have gone through with the surgery. Maybe I should have opted for the RNY? Dunno. Guess I just needed to vent. There is a duodenalswitch group on Yahoo groups that would provide you access to a lot more DS patients. I'm a RNY so I can't help any more than this. Good Luck!

Veronica: I had a DS in October 2001 at Mt. Sinai Hosp. in NYC. I hit goal about 2 weeks ago. I would go on a plateau for about 6-8 weeks, then lose rapidly for the same amount of time. Keep eating your 100 gms of protein daily, drinking your water and taking those supplements. You'll get there!

Thanks Susan & Chris. I'm just very frustrated right now. <p> Susan - Which supplements do you take? Do you use protein shakes? I can't imagine eating 100gms of protein a day. <p> Thanks <p> Veronica
