Karen - I am 5'4" and was 427 at the time of my open RNY surgery last
July 17. I am now 285 pounds, a loss of 142 pounds. My goal is 213
pounds and I have every confidence that I am going to make it...JR

HI,
I was 400 pounds, 5'7", BMI 64 at age 55 when I got my BPD/DS in April
2001. Now I am 221 pounds, I've lost about 70% of my excess weight and I'm
still losing, very slowly at this time almost 2 years out, but a pound
comes off every so often. I've also increased my exercise now. I couldn't
do much exercise early on. I have a bad knee from injury before surgery
which kept me from exercising. I can now walk almost anywhere. I will
also need PS for a rather large pannis and loose skin on my thighs.
Hopefully this will take me closer to goal.
I may never be skinny, but my health is improved 1000%. No more high blood
pressure, high cholesterol and sleep apnea.
