Is there a phone number to call to check on paperwork

Is there a phone number to call to check on paperwork and to make sure our files have been sent? I hav had 2 tenitive dates and was told I that everything sent in and was waiting for approval then it didnt come they gave me a 2nd date and sent me to get the physc evaluation saying that was the hold up...Long story short after doing the evaluation my doctor said even if I was approved that same day of my evaluation he wouldnt be operating on me on the 2nd date of 1/22/03 I wasnt in his scheduled in his little planner! I personally think Im getting a major run around and my paperwork hasnt even been sent in back on 8/08/02 even though he showed me a typed 4 page letter!!! Any advice out there on what to do and how to find this phone number? The doctors office wont give it to me! This would be for the STATE of ILLINOIS MEDICAID MEDIPLAN.I appreciate any and all info and advice!!!Thanks Everyone!    — Vicki R. (posted on January 8, 2003)

There should be a phone number on the back of you medical card. That would be the first place to start. Call them and ask who does the pre-authorizations or pre-certifications for surgical procedures.

And if there isnt a number on your card...you should contact your caseworker and they can get the phone number for you.
