Question:
Post op nausea, pain under left breast, water makes it worse
Hi.. I am 4 weeks post-op from an open rny.. All seemed well for the first 2 weeks but lately I wake up with nausea every morning & have it almost every night when I go to bed plus it happens on & off after I eat & drink during the day.I have noticed the water epecially makes me have that ill feeling.. A typical day for me might be 1/2 container of yogart, 1 soft boiled egg, 2-3 crackers with peanut butter & some crystal light.. Instant breakfast does not sit well with me, I think it's the milk.. I also have a little pain under my left breast & it is not my gall bladder as they also removed it during my surgery.. I have lost 28 lbs so far & am taking my vitamins with no problem.. So is this constant nausea normal & will it pass ?? And am I eating enoug to get by for now.??? Any suggestions.?? E-mail me at [email protected] Thanks — Anne T. (posted on November 11, 2002)

An antihistamine may help with your nausea. Mucus can collect in your pouch
and make you nauseous. I didn't realize how much better I felt after I
started taking antihistamines. See my profile; I'll be 5 weeks post-op Wed.
