Question:
I AM 3 MONTHS POST OP
I HAVE LOST ABOUT 60 - 65 POUNDS. I FEEL SO MUCH HEALTHIER BUT AT THE SAME TIME I AM NERVOUS THAT THE WEIGHT LOSS WILL STOP. IF I DIDN'T LOSE ANOTHER POUND I WOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR THIS SURGERY. I STILL HAVE ALOT MORE TO LOSE THOUGH. I'M REALLY ANEMIC AND THAT HAS MADE EXERCISE A LITTLE DIFFICULT. COULD ANYONE OUT THERE COMPARE WHAT THEY HAD LOST AT MY POINT? I NEED SOME ENCOURAGEMENT!!! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!!! — nikki R. (posted on November 7, 2002)

What did your Dr. instruct for your anemia? Are you eating your protein
first? Taking protein supplements? Vitamins? Did he instruct any additional
vitamin supplements? You are doing fantastic with your weight loss!
Congrats! Please do not compare yourself with anyone else. You are way on
schedule! ok? Take care. Nutrition is essential! Protein first!

You and I are at about the same point. I have lost 63 lbs. at 3 months (I
was about 20 lbs. heavier than you to start), but I feel as though things
are slowing down and it scares me, but I also know that I will keep losing,
heck I'm only eating 650-800 calories a day, I know I need to increase
it,but can't seem to eat more. LOL never thought I'd say that. Good luck

In looking at your profile, I see your iron is giving you fits. Perhaps
swtiching away from ferrous sulfate to an iron that absorbs and is gentle
will help with that. I think your wt loss is fabulous. You're way ahead
of where I was at that point!

i'm the original poster and i take ferrous gluconate. i always get protein
first.we raise beef, it's quite lean and i do well with that. i also eat
plenty of nuts, beans, fish, pork and shrimp. i don't do well with chicken
and turkey. i had blood work yesterday and am anxiously awaiting the
results.

Nikki, if you keep up with what you are doing, you will continue to lose
much more. I saw by your profile, you started at size 24 and are now 18.
And thats just in 3 months. You will continue to lose for the next 9
months and more. They say we have an 18 month window of opportunity and as
long as we use our tool wisely, lots of water and protein, vitamins,
exercise if you can, you will continue to lose.
