I, too, had a sore throat and aches and pains about a week after
surgery...I just knew it was the flu! My suggestion--FLUIDS, FLUIDS,
FLUIDS! I know, I know...it's hard to fathom trying get down MORE fluids
than you already are, but it's very necessary to be hydrated. Also, you
may want to talk to your doctor not see if there are any over the counter
meds you can take (in liquid form, I'd imagine). I also found that my pain
meds came in handy (though I was already off of them by then) and since I
had a few left, I took 1/2 of a pill a couple times and it seemed to help
with the fever and aches (my pills are acetometaphine based).
I hope you feel better....OH--and of course, get plenty of rest (when
you're not drinking!!) :-)

The sore throat could be related to the tube that they put down your throat
during surgery. My sore throat went away about a week later. I am still
somewhat achey 2 weeks post-op, but doing great. Call your doctor to make
sure though.
