Question:
Anybody ever wake up in the morning nauseated?
I didn't eat ANYTHING which would initiate dumping...the last thing I ate last night was unsweetened applesauce. I woke up this morning feeling really sick. I decided to TRY a Carnation Instant Brkfst (SugarFREE) and drank about 1/3 of a cup and before I knew it was all back up. I'm not sure about dumping in the morning without any impetus--has anyone experienced this before? I'm 2 weeks post-op and up until this point I've been able to keep down EVERYTHING I've eaten with the exception of one incident where I ate too much corned beef (blended). Any clue? — Karen K. I did this in the morning too. Just keep it light with eating. Mine
passed about 4 weeks out. My doc also put me on nexium.

I would start the motning with something more soothing. For the frist 3
months, all i could do in the morning was yogurt (1/2 container). IT has
gotten better, but I still have better days when i eat my yogurt first. If
yougurt does not work for you, try something to absorb some of the extra
acid, like a saltine cracker. Good Luck!!

Do you have a lot of nasal drainage? I have terrible allergies and I went
through a lot of this in weeks 2 and 3. I'd wake up, wretching like I
needed to throw up and proceed to throw up for the majority of the day. My
doctor's office told me that it was the drainage that was the problem. I
had been off my allergy meds since the surgery, not wanting to take them
because of the pill size. Once I got back on them, the only thing
different I did for a while was to take a zantac every evening. My friend
who had the surgery the same day I did, had to take an antihistimine in the
evening to cut down on her drainage. Somehow the drainage makes it
difficult for stuff to move in/out of the pouch (the way the nurse
explained it to me at the doctor's office). So you have to make sure it's
not there. This may/may not be your problem, but I thought I'd just offer
what worked for me.

I did the same thing up until about 8 weeks post op. They kept telling me
it would stop at about 6-8 weeks and it did. It helped me to eat a little
something in the mornings even though I didn't feel like it. Good luck.

The same thing occured with me. I had morning sickness for the first 6
weeks or so, then it just went away. I would lay in bed, sip water, and
eat a cracker. That worked somewhat, and once I got the first meal in,
usually a scrambled egg, I felt alot better. It will pass.
